POSITION / OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

  • Join a premier FAA Part 145 Repair Station specializing in heavy maintenance, inspections, repairs, modifications, completions, and refurbishment of a diverse fleet of rotary-wing aircraft.
  • As a Sheet Metal Modification Mechanic, you'll perform structural repairs, aircraft interior modifications, fabricate and install aircraft sheet metal components, and accomplish complex aircraft modifications while ensuring every aircraft meets the highest standards of quality, precision, and airworthiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform sheet metal repairs, structural modifications, and aircraft interior modifications on rotary-wing aircraft.
  • Fabricate, fit, trim, drill, countersink, and install aircraft structural components using approved repair methods.
  • Remove and replace damaged aircraft skins, panels, doublers, brackets, and structural assemblies.
  • Install and modify aircraft interior components, including flooring, insulation, sidewalls, panels, cabinetry, seating provisions, and related structural assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Install rivets, fasteners, and structural hardware utilizing aerospace manufacturing standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, structural repair manuals (SRMs), and technical documentation.
  • Perform layout, measuring, drilling, cutting, and forming of aluminum and other aircraft materials.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
  • Accurately document completed work and maintain detailed maintenance records.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians to ensure quality workmanship and on-time aircraft delivery.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • 6+ years of aircraft sheet metal or structural modification experience required.
  • Previous experience performing aircraft structural repairs, modifications, or heavy maintenance.
  • Experience with aircraft interior installations or modification projects is highly preferred.
  • Helicopter experience preferred, but fixed-wing aircraft structural experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, SRMs, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with aircraft drilling, riveting, sheet metal fabrication, and structural assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain close tolerances.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment 10-year Criminal Background Check and a standard FAA DOT drug test.
  • Reliable personal transportation/vehicle required.
  • Proof of U.S Citizenship required.
  • Valid US Driver’s License.
